It takes a staff to run an event like this one. If you'd like to get involved in the behind-the-scenes, below are a few of the roles that need to be filled. If you're interested in volunteering for any of the listed roles, or if you feel you have something to contribute that isn't listed, please fill out the form and we will be in touch about getting you on the Feast of St. Nicholas staff. 


  • **POSITIONS FILLED** High table servers (2) - As a high table server, you will have the honor of serving Their Excellencies and Their honored guests. You will need some prior server experience, but will have ample training in period etiquette from our Master of Ceremonies. There will be a "uniform" of Concordian blue with white collars, cuffs and hose, with gold trim. Please note, Scullions are eligible for the $8.00 Server & Scullion feast. This will be 2 meals for all staff who would like to partake. This will be the only meal option available to those on staff. 
  • Above the Salt Servers (5) - As an Above the Salt server, you will have the honor of serving many of our honored guests. We ask that you have some prior server experience, but will have ample training in period etiquette from our Master of Ceremonies. There will be an  optional "uniform" of Concordian blue with white partlet and hose. If you are unable, we will provide you with a tabbard to wear over your clothing. Please note, Scullions are eligible for the $8.00 Server & Scullion feast. This will be 2 meals for all staff who would like to partake. This will be the only meal option available to those on staff. 
  • Below the Salt Servers (8) - As a Below the Salt server, you will have the fun task of serving many of our honored guests. You aren't required to have any prior experience. Nor are you required to follow the uniform requirements, though it is highly encouraged, in order to present the highest level of authenticity possible and maintain the immersive feel of the event. Please note, Scullions are eligible for the $8.00 Server & Scullion feast. This will be 2 meals for all staff who would like to partake. This will be the only meal option available to those on staff. 
  • **POSITIONS FILLED** Messenger (2) - As a messenger, you'll have a very active and important role in assisting with communication between the kitchen staff, the Master of Ceremonies, and the Event Stewards. 
  • Scullion - As a scullion, or member of the kitchen staff, you may be asked to slice, dice, stir, plate, wash, etc.... Please note, Scullions are eligible for the $8.00 Server & Scullion feast. This will be 2 meals for all staff who would like to partake. This will be the only meal option available to those on staff. 
  • Gate Porter - As a gate porter, you will report the the Gate Watchman. You will be responsible for welcoming our honored guests to the event, checking them in, and assisting with other tasks necessary at Gate.
  • Page to Morning Constable - As page to the Morning Constable, you will be responsible for assisting with setting up the main hall early in the morning. The hall must be set up by 9am, when gate opens, so we'll likely be starting set up around 7am. 
  • Page to Evening Constable - As page to the Evening Constable, you will be responsible for assisting with tear-down and clean-up. The more hands we have, the faster it will go.
